چکیده

ABSTRACT: Porcine circovirus 2 (PCV2) has a considerable economic impact on the pork industry worldwide for more than two decades. In 2016, new circovirus, porcine 3 (PCV3), was described; since then, it been reported to be associated with diseased or even in clinically healthy swine several countries. Considering importance of wild boars as reservoirs pathogens and extensive distribution these animals Rio Grande do Sul throughout national territory, we searched PCV2 PCV3 twenty-six coupled necropsy histologic examination sampled animals. Using PCR, 182 tissue samples were analyzed, including heart, kidneys, liver, lung, lymph nodes, spleen, tonsils. detected 57.7% (15/26) 15.4% (4/26) boars, respectively. Furthermore, co-infection one animals, DNA detection multiple organs. Histological showed mild moderate multifocal lymphoplasmacytic interstitial nephritis distributed randomly renal cortex, apparently unrelated detection. The boar population Brazil is extensive, indicating presence larger number pathogen hosts. present study, half harbored PCV2; although less frequently, also detected. Therefore, free-living can serve circoviruses southern Brazil.

Detection of Genetic characterization of Porcine circovirus 2 (PCV2) in Brazilian wildlife boars

A semi-intensive wildlife boars farm presented a clinical history of high mortality in 70 - 90 days-old pigs (> 50 %). Two 90 days-old animals with weight loss and wasting were necropsied and the samples tested for PCV2 by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The genetic material of PCV2 was sequenced and classified into the PCV2a genotype together with PCV2 sequences obtained from samples of Polan...

Infectivity of porcine circovirus type 2 DNA in semen from experimentally-infected boars

Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) is an economically important pathogen. It has been demonstrated that PCV2 DNA can be detected in boar semen by PCR; however, the biological relevance of this is unknown. The objectives of this study were to determine if semen positive for PCV2 DNA is infectious (1) in a swine bioassay, or (2) when used for artificial insemination. For the first objective, 4-week...

Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome in Hybrid Wild Boars, China

We conducted a serologic investigation of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) in hybrid wild boar herds in China during 2008-2009. PRRSV isolates with novel genetic markers were recovered. Experimental infection of pigs indicated that hybrid wild boars are involved in the epidemiology of PRRSV.

Porcine Circovirus PCV-2

Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) is considered by most to be the etiologic agent of postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS), but it is also found in association with numerous other conditions. These conditions include porcine dermatitis and nephropathy syndrome (PDNS), porcine respiratory disease complex (PRDC), congenital tremors (CT) type AII, reproductive failure and enteritis. Alt...

Leptospiral antibodies in wild boars (Sus scrofa) bred in Brazil

In the recent years, the wild boar (Sus scrofa) trade has increased in Brazil. The present study aimed to detect Leptospira spp. infection in 308 blood samples from wild boars bred in São Paulo state, Brazil. The microscopic agglutination test (MAT) was performed using 29 serovars. Sixty three (63; 20.45%) animals tested positive against the serovars Hardjo (29/63; 46.0%), Copenhageni (11/63; 1...
